Why You?
The Cyber Security Analyst will, as part of a team-based approach, be responsible for monitoring and responding to IT Security alerts and threats in a timely manner. In addition, this role is responsible for detecting, assessing and mitigating security vulnerabilities found in Pythian’s IT systems. This includes assets located at Pythian’s data center as well as assets in a multi-cloud environment.
This is a 12-month maternity leave replacement, starting by May/June.
What will you be doing?
Ensuring the security of business-critical IT systems under the control of IT Ops including networks, servers and infrastructure services, and end-user systems
Investigate and respond to internally raised security tickets and incidents
Perform monthly vulnerability assessments, record and analyze results, suggest mitigating action and track until completion.
Performing daily security checks consistently and strictly according to procedures; conduct initial analysis, document your findings, and escalate where required
Evaluating, recommending, and implementing security controls and solutions for present and future IT systems
Staying up-to-date with current IT Security trends including applicable regulatory requirements
Being subscribed to well-known industry IT Security alert lists (e.g. US-CERT) and reviewing them in a timely manner
Auditing of Pythian IT Systems (this may include vulnerability assessments and pentesting on an ongoing basis according to prior approved scopes)
Creating security reports
Recommending improvements to IT Security processes and policies
Participating in the incident response process. What do we need from you?
Network security fundamentals
Cloud Security fundamentals (experience with AWS and/or GCP security best practices would be considered an asset)
Experience with EDR/XDR or antimalware tools
Familiarity with vulnerability exposure management tools such as Tenable.io
Familiarity with SIEM tools such as SumoLogic, DataDog, or Splunk
Familiarity with Identity Access Management platforms such as OneLogin or Okta
Certification(s) such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP, or similar would be considered an asset
Proven analytical and problem solving skills
